“Those little legs have travelled some miles… I’m sure possums or cats out there were grooming her.” Kangaroo Island wildlife rescuers have given 7NEWS a heartwarming update about Valerie the miniature dachshund’s remarkable journey after an unplanned adventure that lasted more than 500 days. Jared and Lisa Karran from Kangala Wildlife Rescue say the two-year-old pup was found in ‘perfect condition’ but a reunion with her relieved owners is still a few weeks away as she takes time to reacclimatise: “We want to get her happy. We want to get her in the best condition she can be for us to hand her back over.” KangarooIsland 7NEWS
